At this time, I have decided to take a break from breeding chinchillas. After nearly five years of dedicating my life and energy to improving the quality of chinchillas, I will shift my focus solely to educating individuals about chinchillas and their care. Additionally, I am looking to relocate in the near future and feel that such a move would be best done without so many animals. At this time, all of my breeding pairs have either been rehomed or have been separated. The chinchillas listed here are the only chinchillas that will be available from ChinchillAZ.org for an undetermined period of time.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the available chinchillas listed below, please send an email to info@chinchillaz.org. Include the name of the chinchillas and any questions you may have. We will get back to you as soon as possible. All of these chinchillas are paired with a chinchilla of the same sex. Chinchillas are social creatures and do best with a companion. These pairs allow for each chinchilla to have a buddy to keep them company throughout their lifetime.
Price may be negotiated within reason. Cages of various size are also available at this time. These cages come complete with feeders and Edstrom water bottles with cage guards. Delivery is available within Arizona and may be possible to Southern California (specifically in mid-July), within New Mexico, to Western Texas, and up to Southern Colorado.
If a chinchilla is marked as "On Hold," we are waiting to receive a deposit before marking as "Sale Pending." If a chinchilla is marked as "Sale Pending," a deposit has been received. No sales are final until a chinchilla is marked as "Sold," indicating that the full purchase price as been paid.
All ribbons awarded to the individual chinchilla will be given to the buyer.

Details: On 13 March 2003, Clyde became the first chinchilla to be part of ChinchillAZ.org. He likely came from a ranch in California, though his pedigree was never received. On 26 April 2003, Z came to be part of the ChinchillAZ.org family. He was originally bred by Sarah Newsom in Glendale, AZ. These boys grew up together, though they were separated when they reached sexual maturity. Now calmer in their "old age" -- which is laughable since chinchillas can live to be 20 years old -- they have been reintroduced. They have been together since December of 2007 and get along wonderfully!

Details: These boys were both born at ChinchillAZ.org. Kieran is Gaelic for "little dark one." Kieran was awarded a 3rd Place ribbon at the CA State show in November of 2007. Trey is Italian for "three." While primarily Light Tan in color, Trey has a large brown spot on his head and a white tipped tail. Together, these guys make a great combination of colors!
